Samuel K. Byrd, is a native of Jacksonville, Fl.   "Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Happiness"  is Sam's first book.  Sam was raised by  working class  parents who supported and engouraged him to follow his dreams. When an unfortunate turn of events landed Sam in prision with a 25 to life sentence, and with nothing but time on his hands, Sam was now able to focus his attention and continue on his journey to become a writer. With the he help of his mother, Sam was able  to complete  and publish his first book.

 

Sam uses poetry to share experiences he's had, he time spent with friends, people he's loved and loss., the good and the not so good in life.. Sam shares his unique way of looking at parenting and politics and the world at large.

Sam's words tell  gritty urban stories  in prose, spiced with dark humor, strong language, graphic violence, and sexual content.
